Wizards of the Coast (1994 – 1996)

With the overwhelming success of Magic the Gathering’s release in 1993, other companies and WotC itself sought to replicate that success with other trading card games based on existing or new fantasy or science fiction background. WotC next trading card product was Jyhad, based on the popular Vampire: the Masquerade roleplaying game as published by White Wolf. Richard Garfield (also creator of MtG) was the lead designer for the Jyhad game. In 1995, WotC quickly renamed Jyhad to its current name Vampire: the Eternal Struggle.
