Today, the VEKN has invited players to participate in a poll regarding the latest VTES expansion “The Unaligned“.
Dear fellow Methuselahs,
It is almost 6 months since the release of Vampire: Elder Kindred Network’s second expansion for Vampire: the Eternal Struggle — The Unaligned.
We believe it is enough time for the community to provide feedback regarding this set.
By answering this survey you are helping us to create even better expansions in the future.
Please answer the questions if possible, and send word about this survey to all your friends that play VTES.

A few days ago, I did a list of those VTES cards (crypt and library) which reduces the amount of blood payed for each specific discipline. So here’s basically the same for the bloodline disciplines (although it is a much shorter list than the previous one):
- Textbook Damnation — reduces the cost of Daimoinon cards by two for the vampire with this equipment.
- The Path of Tears — reduces the cost of Obeah cards by one blood for the attached vampire.
- Melpominee — None
- Sanguinus — None
- Temporis — None
- Thanatosis — None
- Tupdog — pays one less blood for all Visceratika cards.
Basically this is just a list of what I couldn’t find anywhere else and I couldn’t produce easily one with the VTES card tools like FELDB or Secret Library. What I was looking for was a comprehensive list of those crypt and library cards which pay less blood for certain disciplines.
- Abombwe — None
- Helena (ADV) — pays no blood for reaction cards requiring Auspex
- Gabrin — pays one less for all Chimerstry cards
- Dementation — None
- Helena (ADV) — pays no blood for reaction cards requiring Dominate
- Una — pays one less for all Fortitude cards
- Dr. Oliver Genet — pays one less blood for ally/retainer cards requiring Necromancy
- Obfuscate — None
- Presence — None
- Horrock — pays one less for all Protean cards
- Generic Cost Reduction ..
- Ankara Citadel — halves the blood cost (round down) for all cards for the vampire “equipped” with the Ankara Citadel.
It’s quite interesting to see, how unevenly these cards are distributed. All of the disciplines (with the exception of Dementation & Thaumaturgy) which are unique to a clan (counting the regular clans and antitribu as one) have a path, but the distribution for the other cards are very uneven. The Tzimisce, a clan I wouldn’t count as weak, have three(!) vampires with reduction (four, if you count Little Tailor; five, if count Dragos as well). The Nosferatu/Nosferatu antitribu on the other hand, have none. Maybe it’s time to level the playing field a bit? Maybe not in terms of adding more Paths, but a few selected vampires with cost reduction would help …

.. that you can’t play Zephyr after you played Spying Mission. While the bleed is not successful (the bleed amount was reduced to zero), the action as such was successful. And therefore by the card text of Zephyr you can’t play the card.
Basically the above is the reverse argument for the fact that you can play Freak Drive (even at basic Fortitude) after playing Spying Mission. The action is successful (even though the bleed is not), therefore you can play Freak Drive.

Today (March 1st, 2015) the VEKN released more information on VEKN.net about the upcoming VTES Storyline named The Red Sign. But read for yourself:
The Red Sign is a constructed V:TES Storyline event designed for worldwide play during spring and summer 2015.
Except as noted in these instructions, each Storyline game will follow the VEKN Constructed Tournament rules for card play and deck construction. Each Storyline game will be timed to a maximum duration of 2 hours.
At least 75% (e.g. 9 out of 12) of the vampires in each player’s crypt must belong to the same clan. In this context, ‘clan’ includes all bloodlines, Panders and Imbued, but not Caitiff.
In addition to the standard list of VEKN banned cards and errata, the following changes apply:
Players may also use any or all of the crypt and library cards provided in this pack in deck construction, with the exception of The Red Sign (see below).
The Storyline will be played in single games, with the results of each game contributing to the narrative. Each play group may play this Storyline any number of times within the allotted time frame.
Players will note that the master card The Red Sign provides an alternate victory condition to win the game.
The following pack contains the full rules sheet, printable PDFs for 48 new library cards and 8 new crypt cards, a Storyline results form and an equivalent e-mail results template.
The contents of this pack may be updated during the course of the Storyline, so please check for updates posted here at www.vekn.net.
